To make way for the Parc des Sports project, the COIB has vacated the building it occupied on the site. A further step towards the completion of this long-awaited park as part of the NEO project!
Pending the delivery of the COIB’s new headquarters, a solution had to be found for the team in the run-up to the Paris Olympics. Since last month, the COIB has taken up temporary residence on the 6th floor of the Buro & Design Center (BDC), with some meeting rooms on the ground floor. The Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) and the Belgian Court of Arbitration for Sport (CBAS) are also part of this move.
This temporary location offers both a state-of-the-art infrastructure and the space needed to provide the best possible services to athletes, partners and federations.
Between now and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the COIB will move again, this time to its new building on the Heysel site, with a view of the new sports park.
Cédric Van Branteghem, CEO of the COIB: “It was important for the COIB that this move took place now, before we enter the home straight for the Paris Olympic Games. This means we can continue to provide our services without the move having an impact on our athletes and partners. The plans for the new building also reflect the ambition and excellence expected of an Olympic headquarters.”
