The development of NEO is carried out in cooperation with leading private partners, selected through public invitations to tender conducted in particular in the form of competitive dialogues. Though more cumbersome and complex, this procedure has the advantage of allowing the contracting authority to dialogue with the various candidates to develop improved projects together.

2014: awarding of the contract to Europea

NEO2

2018: awarding of the market to the Brussels Pavilion Gardens
CFE Cofinimmo
Architects: Jean Nouvel and MDW architecture
2020: Relinquishment of the contract by the City of Brussels. The City and the Region are discussing the necessary foundations for NEO to develop a new convention centre on the grounds of the Exhibition Centre.
