Mobility \/ Work continues: news from the connecting roadway, as part of the <\/span>NEO<\/span><\/a> project<\/span><\/p>\n

This new roadway will ease the flow of traffic to and from the <\/span>Heysel<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Part of this new roadway comprises a tunnel under the Chauss\u00e9e Romaine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its main roles are to:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2714\ufe0f<\/span> Connect Parking C with the front of the Brussels Expo halls (avenue Imp\u00e9ratrice Charlotte) – above all.<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2714\ufe0f<\/span> Improve mobility by relieving congestion in the adjacent neighbourhoods and roads – also.<\/span>
\n<\/span>\u2714\ufe0f<\/span>Facilitate the flow of pedestrian and cyclist traffic thanks to the redevelopment and extension of <\/span>Parc Verregat<\/span><\/a> – since December 2022!<\/span><\/p>\n

An update on the work in progress:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2714\ufe0f<\/span> We’ve completed the roof of the tunnel on the Grimbergen side<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2714\ufe0f<\/span> We’ve rerouted traffic from Chauss\u00e9e Romaine over this completed roof to allow us to start working on the roof on the Brussels side, the first phase of which has already been poured.<\/span><\/p>\n

The connecting roadway is one of the Heysel’s many connections to both Brussels and the rest of the country, alongside the metro, three tram lines, numerous bus routes, the A12, and the Ring.<\/span><\/p>\n

NEO Brussels will be accessible whether you’re travelling via public transport, car, or bike. The district has been designed to make it as easy as possible to use soft transport modes. Switching from car to public transport or soft mobility will be seamless.<\/span><\/p>\n
