{"id":2486,"date":"2025-03-03T18:30:28","date_gmt":"2025-03-03T17:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/janvier-2025-place-au-futur-parc-des-sports\/"},"modified":"2025-03-17T14:53:32","modified_gmt":"2025-03-17T13:53:32","slug":"january-2025-make-way-for-the-future-sports-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/en\/january-2025-make-way-for-the-future-sports-park\/","title":{"rendered":"January 2025: Make way for the future Sports Park !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exit <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbfa.be\/en\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Royal Belgian Football Association<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, enter Sports Park <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Things are kicking off at the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> NEO Brussels<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> site, starting with the demolition of the Royal Belgian Football Association\u2019s former headquarters on Avenue Houba de Strooper in Laeken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2531\" src=\"https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Sans-titre-12-compressed-1-900x503.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"503\" srcset=\"https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Sans-titre-12-compressed-1-900x503.jpg 900w, https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Sans-titre-12-compressed-1-768x430.jpg 768w, https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Sans-titre-12-compressed-1-1200x671.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/neobrussels.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Sans-titre-12-compressed-1.jpg 1366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In its place will be the Parc des Sports and its:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a one-and-a-half hockey pitch with a 1,000-seat grandstand;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">athletics training grounds with a 400-metre, 8-lane track \u2013 plus a 750-seat grandstand and equipment for all sports;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rugby and football pitch with a 5,000-seat grandstand;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">club house;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">water sports area;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">waterfall-inspired water feature running across the site, connected to a storm basin;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a new building to house various sports associations, including the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teambelgium.be\/en\/about-boic\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Belgian Olympic &amp; Interfederal Committee<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The building had been empty since the Association\u2019s relocation to its new offices in Tubize three years ago.
